Healing From Trauma: A Survivors Guide to Empowerment

Healing from trauma and of course, leaving a legacy were the topics. Journey to Legacy podcast hosted by Wayne Veldsman was the venue.

💛 Leaving a legacy in my career as a forensic accountant, yet that career was a mask I wore while I just survived, and as unique as that work was, it did not fulfill me as part of my life’s purpose. Now, I’m leaving my true legacy as I work to help other survivors of trauma and abuse to become Empowered Survivors.

💛 Accepting myself as a survivor rather than living with a “should’ve, could’ve, would’ve” mindset, spinning tales of an altered reality that could never be.

💛 Knowing when it’s time to HEAL: confusion, discomfort, pressure points, rock bottom, or a life-altering event, and responding healthily to heal once you’ve reached your time. I felt my urge to heal for years before I knew that I had experiences to heal from.

💛 Focusing on healing, not victimhood, and finding the line between ignoring the effects of trauma versus knowing that you’ve healed the associated emotions we carry in our bodies.
